When the seal fails, it will not only cause equipment damage and cause production, but also cause environmental pollution, fire and industrial safety accidents, which may cause huge losses. The main reason for the failure of the seal is that the design or selection cannot meet the actual working conditions, or the operation is often outside the preset range. Of course, the poor production or installation quality of the seal is also one of the common reasons. Therefore, the main cause of failure must be confirmed through root cause analysis (RCA) before effective countermeasures such as design improvement and material change can be taken. The main failure mechanisms of seals include degradation, blistering, cracks, voids, discoloration or swelling.

 ●Temperature or pressure is higher than (material) specification or aging

 ●High friction or PV value leads to early wear

 ●Extrusion failure caused by excessive sealing gap

 ●The surface condition of the mounting or sealing surface is not good
